Naming Ceremonies
The birth of a child is often a time for great joy to be shared with those we love. Sometimes this is done within a religious context such as a christening. However, if this is not for you, there is the opportunity to celebrate by having a celebrant-led naming service.
This is an opportunity to gather together, give thanks, and possibly choose some people who will commit to supporting your child as they grow up. You could call these people a guide parent.
I love being with children and I am more than able to go along with the surprises they sometimes add to these occasions.
Naming ceremonies are not only for babies. Perhaps your child is older, you have adopted a child or you are a blended family and want to celebrate coming together. Maybe you have transitioned and want to acknowledge and celebrate your new identity.
